Joseph Foo

Joseph began his journey in the creative industry as a graphic designer. Having worked in the United States and Singapore, he returned to Malaysia and did a year’s stint with one of Malaysia’s leading design firms. He went on to establish trinity (3nity) with two other partners in 1996 and has since spearheaded his team towards making 3nity the multi-disciplinary brand identity consultancy it is today.


His work has been rewarded in both local and internationalcompetitions — Design for Asia Awards,the Hong Kong International Poster Triennial, HKDA Excellence Awards, and the Singapore Design Awards being some of the latest. He has also been featured in numerous local and overseas publications including World Graphic Design (New York /London), etapes (Paris), Design Week (Seoul), IdN (Hong Kong),
Art & Design (Beijing), Art4D (Bangkok), The Business Times and Zhao Bao (Singapore) and Malaysia’s very own Star, The Edge and Adoi, to name a few.


 
 

An active speaker and panelist, he has spoken at design seminars, workshops and dialogues held in and out of Malaysia and has recently judged the design category of Cannes Lions and Hong Kong Long Xi Awards. He guest lectures at The One Academy, a leading art & design college in Kuala Lumpur. Beyond Malaysia, he teaches and conducts workshops at Beijing’s Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) yearly and has spoken at Akademie SchlossSolitude (Stuttgart), Rangsit University (Bangkok), Temasek Polytechnic (Singapore), Shih Jian University (Taipei), Ning Bo University (Ning Bo), Tong Ji University (Shanghai), Ludong University (Shandong) and various design schools in Asia.

Pursuing his interest in exploring Asian thoughts and identity through graphic design, he co-founded Art4soul in 2000. A visual communicator whose interest and passion spans across various creative disciplines, he recently established a division named TriDi (3Di) that is dedicated to exploring product & furniture design.
